Happy New Year everyone!
A number of people have asked for clarification on reporting information for the Big January 2021 competition. So here is a reminder (there will likely be more as this is new for everyone):
The actual survey data is reported to the Atlas Project but for scoring points for the competition participants need to report to me (Dave Provencher) via email or USPS. The reason for this is to save the Atlas team members handling the actual survey data the additional task of tracking participant's points (they are working hard enough already!)
So, *actual survey data* is submitted either by eBird checklist (preferred, and remember to *share the checklist* with CT Bird Atlas), a scanned copy of the atlas form emailed to <ctbirdatlasdata...>, or mailed hard copy via USPS (address is on the data form, which can be found on the atlas website.)
And for scoring points to be tabulated, *the survey date, time, and block number (not the bird data collected) must be emailed to <hikerbirder1...> <hikerbirder1...> or mailed to Dave Provencher, 11 Ortega Drive, Preston, CT. 06365.*
Thanks everyone, keep the questions coming,
