There were a few interesting gulls in the Hartford area this afternoon.
Riverside Park - adult Lesser Black-backed Gull Murphy Rd waste center - adult hybrid Glaucous x Herring Gull, 2 first cycle Iceland Gulls, first cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull
Note: The adult Glaucous x Herring hybrid closely resembles an adult Iceland Gull. Note clear pale lemon yellow iris without any dark flecking, yellow-orange orbital ring, overall size of a medium-large Herring Gull, and thin crown and nape streaking.
