12/23 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center, 9:45-11:15am. Low tide, sunny, 38-41F... A beautiful day to be at the coastal center-actually felt warm. On the path to the Long Island Sound and a walk along the shoreline (very low tide),- lots of deer footprints, bird footprints in the snow. About 400 Canada Geese (many tucked in along the shoreline and many flyovers) , 1 Northern Harrier , about 24 Brant , numerous Herring gulls and a few Ring billed gulls, flock of about 25 Horned Larks at end of sand bar, along with 4 Snow Buntings sitting & preening on a washed up log , many American Black ducks , 1 Common Loon, 1 Red throated loon- further out on the sound.
