I did an ambitious cross country ski birding tour around Lake Saltonstall trails this morning. The lake is still mostly ice free and waterfowl numbers are building. There were at least 75 Hooded Mergansers and the prize was a flock of Common Redpolls feeding in an alder down by the boat dock area. EBird list below.
