Subject: [ia-bird] White winged Scoter
A White-winged Scoter continues at the Ventura grade, west end of Clear
Lake. It is in with some scaup and others. Otherwise it was pretty quiet
on the lake, just a few ducks around.

Four Sandhill Cranes were at Zirbel Slough. Mostly the ponds have a thin
layer of ice on them.

One Red-tailed Hawk was seen, nothing airborne. Two thousand gulls,
presumed Ring-billed Gulls, were out too far on a new area to find something
different.

It was a slow day but nice to be out in the sun and no wind.
