Observation start time: 07:00:00 Observation end time: 16:00:00 Total observation time: 8.5 hours
Official Counter: Claudia Sacks
Observers: Dan Kell, Rob Keith
Weather: Cold this morning with the trail showing signs of a frozen ground. Groups of leaves on the walk up were elevated from the ground itself; looked like the water under them lifted them in the freeze. Temps 21-37. Light wind in the morning rising to 6-7 mph in the afternoon from the S. Cloudy in the morning becoming clear with a crisp blue sky in the afternoon.
Raptor Observations: BE(1): 0936i
Non-raptor Observations: A lovely look of an adult red tail in the bowl today. Did a couple of circles for us before peeling off and heading south. Really lovely views of his obvious red shoulders, blue-grey wingtips, and boldly striped tail. Always something magical to be seen on the mountain! Tufted titmice, chickadees, and juncos chirped hello today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Bob Hoopes (<rehoopes...>) Bake Oven Knob information may be found at: www.lgnc.org
