Subject: [CT Birds] More crossbills, Bigelow Hollow
It sounds like there’s at least some chance of red crossbills anywhere with a lot of conifers, especially across the northern tier of the state, but to add to the list I had some while atlasing at Bigelow Hollow this morning. Both west of the boat launch and flyovers farther south in the park. It may have been multiple flocks, but could also have been the same small group moving around. No decent looks, just heard them overhead and brief glimpses in flight.
