From what I gathered by talking to people today, the farmer leases the land and was not pleased with visitors leaving the dirt road and traipsing through his fields for closer looks/photos of the bird. Familiar story? I did not witness any of that today with the 25 or so
people I saw but this past weekend the place was apparently loaded with people.
