Subject: [VTBIRD] Connecticut River fall out
It was a phenomenal day (well, maybe not by Lake Champlain standards) for
waterbird fallout on the Connecticut River north of the Wilder Dam today.
Highlights included a female Common Eider in Norwich and a Red-throated
Loon in Wilder. Other noteworthy finds were 10 Red-breasted Mergansers, a
tight flock of >125 scoters (all 3 species, but predominantly Black), a
female Long-tailed Duck, 15 Bufflehead, and 3 Horned Grebes -- all at
Kilowatt South Park in Wilder. Also, two separate small groups of Common
Redpolls in Norwich.

It doesn't get much better than that in this part of the state!
