Subject: [obol] Hagg Lake, 29 Oct.

Hagg Lake (Washington Co. near Forest Grove) is productive right now.

Today several of us were prowling around there. Susan and Rick’s LONG-TAILED DUCK continued for the 4th consecutive day, best seen from the Elks, Dam, or Eagle Pt overlooks. In addition there were:

Snow Goose - 1
Surf Scoters - 5 or more
Red-breasted Merganser - 1
Greater Scaup - 3 or more
Common Loon - 5
Red-necked Grebe - 5
Dunlin - 3
Bonaparte’s Gull - 2
various other expected waterfowl, grebes, etc.

A scope is necessary, but sunshine made for good lighting from most of the south shore, and the water was flat as glass.
