I haven’t seen the new Sibley’s guide, I ordered it from Amazon, had it shipped to my granddaughter in Loveland, Co

I remembered my brother having one of these with his Sibley s guide when he introduced me to birding many years ago. I’m guessing the publishers are doing a better job of indexing and quick indexing than they did in older editions.
I always gift my old copies to new birders, so I can’t check the old editions to see if there was a deficit in the old editions.
I agree though. I don’t see the point for the current edition. It’s got plenty of indexing to get you on your bird.

I didn't really think using a normal index was that much of a pain, and most have a quick index in the back as well.
That link doesn't have any of the newer Sibley's as far as I could tell... but, if that image represents what people would be wanting to buy, I can't imagine it being difficult for someone to type something up themselves and print it out. And you can buy sticker paper. Just a thought.
Personally, though I haven't done this myself, I wouldn't mind a field guide that was tabbed by families or something. Either tabs that stick out or the ones that go in like an old Bible.
