Subject: [sbcobirding] Laguna Blanca in Santa Barbara
I know of no better inland shorebirding along the South Coast than
currently at Laguna Blanca. Water is evaporating and it will soon be dry.
Extensive bulldozing of the margins is ongoing. Today, there were 6
Pectoral Sandpipers remaining, single Western and Least Sandpipers, 29
dowitchers, 19 Greater Yellowlegs, 40 and 10 Snowy and Great Egrets, and 2
White-faced Ibis.
A scope is imperative, bird always only from the road edge surrounding the
golf course.
