Weather: Cloudless skies with haze from the wildfires out west. Overall cool. Light to moderate northeasterly winds.
Raptor Observations: Early liftoff of a handful of broad-wings. Some large kettles mid-morning but all extremely distant. Slow in the afternoon. Total of 270 broad-wings. Otherwise moderate migration including 5 harriers, 12 sharpies and 5 Coops, 19 kestrels and a merlin.
Non-raptor Observations: Common Nighthawk, 2 Common Ravens, 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches, 4 Purple Finches, Bobolink, Cape May Warbler, 47 monarchs.
New species for season: Cape May Warbler, Purple Finch.
Predictions: Wednesday: Generally sunny. High 24C. Winds S at 10-15km/h. Unfavorable wind direction but broad-wings could be moving if it stays light. Expect light to moderate migration.
Thursday: Cloudy. high 25C. Winds light and variable. Expect light migration.
Friday: Morning showers then cloudy. High 19C. Winds NNE at 15-25km/h.
