Strong supercillium. Brownish gray upper back and folded wings with soft
lighter edges on covert feathering.Rufous splotches lower abdomen on buffy
gray indicates adult bird probably in molting process from breeding status.
Dark legs apparent and helpful with size and distinguishing from dowitcher
when sleeping and tucked. White rump seen well when stretching / lifting
wings . Under wing axilla and forward underwing is noticeably dark ,
edged by contrasting white against this dark underwing and distinctive
from other Godwit species. When feeding it submerges it’s bill deeply in
the mud to its bill base."

- Comments: "First observed 8/23 by Dave Trochell. When I first arrived,
TVs, RT and Swainsons were in the air above the field. The RS engaged in
what seemed to be aggressive, territorial behavior, especially with
Swainson's and TVs. Flew to far east cottonwoods south of road, calling.
Then I played tag. I got to about .1 mile of the bird and it flew E,
landing in trees by my car. I walked back and it flew into NS line of
willows across from house. At that point Laura arrived. We watched it for
quite some time, heard plenty of vocalization, but never got good close
views of the bird perched. Still, nice for my first RS in Union Co. A
couple of times could make out the pale crescents near wing tips."

orange-crowned warblers pished in along the end of the inlet willows:

(44.135258,-121.421491)

Blueish-backed warbler with partial white eye arcs, broad colorful throat
extending from yellow to orange-tinged (juvenile plumage), with white
wingbars, white belly and white undertail coverts with blue tips.

Curious to pishing sounds but largely staying in the shadowy middle levels
of willows (which was helpful to see better with less sun glare)."

- Comments: "This was an all gray and white warbler. Its upperparts were
entirely gray, darkest on the crown and cheek. The bird had a broad, white
supercilium and small, but distinct yellow supraloral spot. The wings were
dark gray with two bold white wingbars. The tail was dark gray and had
whitish outer retrices that were only obvious in flight. The underparts
were white, but the bird had darkly-streaked flanks and a dark gray partial
collar. The bill and legs were dark gray. The bird called often, which
sounded like a loud "chip" or "chik" to me. I assume that this was a
first-fall bird. Photos."
