Years ago there was some evidence that Solitary Sandpipers nested in Gold
Lake Bog. Several people looked for them. I remember walking out on the
floating mat and pursuing what turned out to be a Spotted Sandpiper.

I also remember one of my legs "falling off" when I stepped in a hole in the
mat and ended up soaked to the hip. The knee of the other leg was in my
face. Be careful out there.

Hi folks,

Courtney and I camped out near Gold Lake last night. ...

The bog research area at the north side of Gold Lake looks cool. Anyone
know how to bird it?

Best to all,
Caleb Centanni
