Years ago there was some evidence that Solitary Sandpipers nested in Gold Lake Bog. Several people looked for them. I remember walking out on the floating mat and pursuing what turned out to be a Spotted Sandpiper.
I also remember one of my legs "falling off" when I stepped in a hole in the mat and ended up soaked to the hip. The knee of the other leg was in my face. Be careful out there.

Courtney and I camped out near Gold Lake last night. ...
The bog research area at the north side of Gold Lake looks cool. Anyone know how to bird it?
