- Comments: "Continuing bird found earlier in the day by Brodie C.
Spizella. Long tailed, plain breasted, diminutive sparrow, with dull
brownish and dull white plumage. Perhaps more frosty/pale overall than than
other sparrows present. Subtle but complete pale eyering. Small and dull
flesh/gray bill. Crown more intense brown than the rest of the face, though
not rufous at all. I believe this bird can be differentiated from CHSP by
its non-contrasting facial pattern, with pale lores. I did not see the
bird's back or nape.

I had good views of the bird for ~20 seconds before it flew into the
shrubs, where I tried to photograph it. Resulting photos are miserable. It
may take several seconds or longer of squinting to make out what may look
like a BRSP.

Seen here: 45.384989,-122.849037. In and near ravine with other sparrows."
