I would have been happy with one, but there were FIVE juveniles at Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove this afternoon. WOW! There were also some calls when they flushed. Juvenile Short-billeds are relatively easily picked out by looking for the buffy tiger-striped tertials. From the gazebo on the eastern edge, walk southeast along a rough and uneven trail for maybe 100yds.
Many Woodland Skippers and Western Tailed-Blues were along the trail. There even was a single Lorquin's Admiral.
