Great Egrets. Mostly blackish bill with moderate yellow coloration near the
base of the bill (hard to make out fine details due to distance). Both had
black legs and at least one had a medium plume coming off the nape. Snowy
Egret has been an annual Summer visitor now for many consecutive years at
this location."

- Comments: "I followed the small brown bird, with a bright yellow patch on
the top of his head as it forgaged above my head (sometimes less than 4
feet away from me) in the low branches of a conifer on the top of the
cliffs by the water. I saw the yellow patch several times and the back and
underside of the bird many times but I was unable to get a photograph. I
excluded Golden-crowned Kinglet, as well as White-Crowned Sparrow and Song
Sparrow which were present in the trees and grasses across the field from
the parking lot. I believe this is a 1st to 2nd year Golden-crowned Sparrow
- It double checked it and matched a photo on iBird Pro to a “t”."
