Subject: [NHBirds] possible Swallow-tailed Kite in Keene 7/27
Birders,
Experienced birders, Paul Gurn and Eileen Synott, reported what may have been a Swallow-tailed Kite flying west over their yard in West Keene yesterday around 2 pm. Unfortunately, they weren't able to document the bird with a camera, nor did they have binoculars handy for this sighting. Considering the report of a possible STKI in Webster a few days ago, perhaps there is a bird moving through our area, or there could be a small movement of this rare species taking place; however, eBird doesn't show any confirmed summer reports closer than western PA.Birders should be on the lookout (as always!) with cameras ready.
