On Jan 13, 2020, I saw a pair of White-tailed Kites sitting together in a
bush in an area where they've had young in the past. That was NW of
Willamina on Allen Rd. I haven't seen them in subsequent visits to the
area. Maybe I should take another look.

I'll ask Linda Fink if she found them on her raptor routes in that area this
past winter.

Is this species still breeding in Polk and Yamhill Counties in the
Willamette Valley?  Any breeding further north? I seem to remember it
breeding north to Clatsop County also, but not sure what its status is
these days up there.  It seems like in general, numbers have been down the
past decade- during the winter and possibly also as a breeder?

Nice find Don and Robyn!  Such a secretive breeder until suddenly the
adults are seen with recently fledged young.

Happy birding all,
