Subject: [ia-bird] Re: Here is a recording puzzle
A web search at;
https://academy.allaboutbirds.org/peterson-field-guide-to-bird-sounds/?speciesCode=brdowl&species=Barred%20Owl%20-%20Strix%20varia
Has two recordings of a juvenile Barred Owl. The first has calls that are
in the frequency range of the mystery bird. The second recording is lower
in pitch but has the ascending call and it is fragmented in the delivery
just as the mystery bird call.
