- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S71739295
- Comments: "New bird for this entire region for me, after many visits!
Recognized the call notes as a pair flew directly overhead -- identical to
the tinkling conversational notes we hear every day from this species at
home in Portland, and distinct from the various American Goldfinch notes
heard just previously in the Commons Park. The two birds looked very petite
in flight, fitting LEGO well. After landing in a distant tree, luckily they
took flight again and passed close enough that I could see the
characteristic white wing patches in flight and the black-capped,
green-backed, yellow-breasted coloration of the male. They flew toward the
Commons Park and we did not chase them or see them again."
