- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S71544697
- Media: 1 Photo
- Comments: "I saw this sparrow in the middle of the prairie portion of
the park. It was perched on a small twiggy tree without many leaves. The
feature I noticed first was the central crown stripe so I took a photo to
examine more closely. The strong facial pattern with bold supercilium,
pink bill with dark line on upper mandible and pale lores are what pointed
towards this species. The nape is what initially made me hesitate in
calling this a CCSP. After consulting with other birders it was suggested
that this could be a juvenile with the nape matching the underparts. It
seems to have retained some faint streaking in the breast, so may be still
molting into adult plumage. Photo"
