- Comments: "Female or immature male resting and then standing on the
rocks across from the bridge overlook. Overall gray body with brown head,
black bill, yellow eye, gently sloping forehead/bill (compared to
Barrow’s), and small vague white smudge in front of eye. Belly white, legs
orange. Lots of white visible on wing due to molt. Appeared lethargic;
perhaps unhealthy."

- Comments: "First flushed from the center dike. Large white-ish calidrid
sandpiper with silvery back. Seen poorly but adequately while it was
standing. Heard and seen well in flight. No photos unfortunately. Last seen
flying toward the center dike but when I walked back I couldn't refind it.
Probably still present. Seems early."

other swallows, light brown above, white below with dark breast-band.
Unlike fainter, not as sharply defined breast band shown on some immature

in Oregon! New county bird and new state bird, for both of us, when they
split crossbills!
— and even cooler, just looked at ebird records, and there are only 2 other
approved pins for type 5 in entire state of Oregon! — this is mostly a
species of mid/southern Rocky Mountains"

heard them. I heavily edited and amplified the sound recording and the
spectrogram appears to bear this out with the strong "V" shape visible."
