Subject: [southbaybirds] Western Screeh-Owl
I normally wake up at about 4:30AM and because of the heat I open all my windows to cool down the house (and make coffee). At 5:10 this morning (7/13) I had a WESTERN SCREECH OWL doing the "bouncing ball" call from the Birch trees in my back yard. I do feed birds but I suspect that the slow drip bird bath located under my 3 Birch trees might well be the attraction. Last year (6/29) during a warm spell II also had the same thing occur. Neat!
Take care,
Bob Reiling
