Subject: [southbaybirds] The American Dipper Continues at Los Gatos Creek Trail on 7/12/2020

From the west side of the creek I found the American Dipper feeding downstream on the several inch wide green streak at the edge of the water.  The picture was taken at a point about 1 or 2 hundred yards past where 2 or 3 small pipes cross the creek, and just further up from a waterfall.  When I went to shoot again, the bird was gone.  I don't know why the bird was usually showing a bit of its Nictitating Membrane.

The other photo shows 4 Black Phoebe chicks which showed some interesting behavior.

Thanks, Bob Reiling and Raja Bhadury, for posting photos showing the field marks on the Common Tern.
