Subject: [va-bird] Sky Meadows Indigo Buntings (& cliff swallows nesting near VA border)
The bluest of the blue Indigo Buntings continue to enchant visitors along the Piedmont Overlook Trail at Sky Meadows State Park -- along with their bright yellow goldfinch cousins, which sometimes literally hanging out on the purple musk thistles. Some pix are (temporarily) here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/olympusbjs/qP1U4r EXTRALIMITAL: Also, FYI several cliff swallows are nesting under the Anacostia Railroad Bridge by Kenilworth Gardens.  (GPS: 38.917006, -76.943792) You can see them from the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail via Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens in DC, where the "must-see" gorgeous lotuses are PEAKING!
