- Comments: "A Franklin's Gull was found near the shelter by Chuck Philo.
Later I observed it preening and feeding on the sand/mud bar there. The
gull was in non-breeding plumage and had a pink tint to its breast feathers
that can be seen in two of the photos. In the photo of the FRGU feeding, it
appears that the prey item is a small crustacean and note that its leg
color is a dull red."

- Comments: "Medium sized heron flyover heading southeast this evening. The
light was fading, the bird was backlit, and I didn’t have my optics in
hand. I first thought GRHE as it approached, but then it gave several
diagnostic ‘kwok’ flight calls while flying by. It kept its neck tucked as
it flew and it’s legs extended past tail feathers while in flight. Might be
worth checking Butterfield in the morning."

face. Red was confined to the throat, crown and a small patch on the nape.
Well defined black and white markings on face. It began drumming after it
flew away, which matched with the recording on Merlin and Sibley’s. More
typewriter like and with more beats than RBSA."

- Comments: "Chuck Philo and I re-found the EAKI on the north shoreline
(see photo). Soon thereafter, it briefly perched on a shore pine and then
flew out of sight to the west. I unexpectedly found it again on a fence
near the round-about and took a couple of photos of it there. My goal was
to keep it in sight for others to see but again it flew off and I was
unable to relocate it again.This bird has exhibited a flighty and unsettled
behavior since it was first seen on June 14th."
