Subject: Re: [VTBIRD] The second feature?
The day after 'my' bluebirds fledged, Mr. Wren started filling the box.
After two days I looked in to find only a few sticks so I decided to remove
them and old EABL nest thinking maybe another/or same pair EABL would
renest.
I left the side open to discourage the wren. Next day - did I get
scolded!! 2 wrens (mr.& mrs?) were both at the box fluttering and
'chatting'. Well, I told them there were 2 other boxes that they could use
within 30'! Interestingly, in the 30 yrs we have been in this location, no
bird has used one of those boxes (10' high on a tree facing w with some
brush on back side) and the other box only rarely - on split rail fence
post facing N 4' high with lilac bush nearby)

Yesterday, I heard bluebirds singing. This a.m. M & F were both at the
'old' box. It's been 6 days since yd all left. GO Mom go!!
