Subject: [Arlington Birds] Horn Pond
Birders: Horn Pond is the place to walk these cloudy cold March days. As you may remember, some lady leaves off bird seed on fences and posts, assuring Chickadees and Titmice close looks a number of times! Song Sparrows and White-throated. Mute Swan mate defending their nest versus a pair of Canada Geese. Many Mallard pairs. A tree-ful of Grackles. A Red-winged Blackbird singing to show off its scarlet epaulets 30 feet from us on a reed, both! Blue Jays, Cardinals, Flickers, a Downy. One ragged Goldfinch. Just a few Seagulls out on the big pond. Wow, a whole farm nothing but houses on the top of the hill!
