- Comments: "Heard "tu weep" song and chip call. Observed this flycatcher catching insects and while it was perched I saw regular tail wagging. While approximately the same size, it didn't have the black and white markings of the nearby Black Phoebes. It had faint wingbars. Its belly was a yellowish versus the rufous belly of Say's Phoebe. It was also noticeably smaller than Say's Phoebe. Poor pics obtained. It was constantly being flushed by golfers and traffic on the road between the Country Club and The Wine Center on Industrial Parkway. It spent most of it's time flying back and forth over the road. There is an open grassy area lined by trees at The Wine Center and a very large Eucalyptus tree next to the fence at the Country Club. It was observed off and on for about 20 minutes in this area. The Wine Center is located at 2463 Industrial Parkway in Santa Maria. Lat and Long is 34.912867, -120.448432."
