Late today an adult male Tufted Duck was found by Doug Robinson at the Philomath sewage ponds. It was in the northeast pond. By the time I saw it, it had tucked its head down and apparently slept for the entire time I watched it. It's very white sides and very black back and head really stood out amongst the RNDU and LESC that surrounded it. A bit of its tuft was visible at times and shows in some of my photos. I hoped to see it with its head up but as darkness descended I had to admit defeat and hope for another opportunity if it sticks around awhile. Still very exciting!
