Subject: [StanislausBirds] Dry Creek Modesto Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker
Yesterday (Monday) about 2:30 pm I saw a juvenile sapsucker with a pale chin region. The only sapsucker that would still be in this plumage this time of year is Yellow-Bellied.  I wanted to confirm this before posting..  The only other possibility would have been Red-Naped which would have been showing significant red by now.  I will submit full report later.  Was not able to get pic. West of brown bridge in trees by "pump station".
