VA-Birders,The Northern Virginia Bird Club walk at Burke Lake today was quite pleasant as the rain held off, and the wind was calm. The eight of us observed 31 species including an adult Red-shouldered Hawk that perched at eye-level allowing extended looks. The waterfowl were below average in numbers and variety, and the Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Swamp Sparrow were elusive, but the bluebirds, kingfisher and eagleput on a good show. Complete list follows.
