Subject: [texbirds] Sun Rise crossing of Sandhill Crain from mainland to Galveston
My wife and I recently birded the west end of Galveston Island and
located two small flocks of Sandhill Crane foraging on the bay side of
SH257.

Further research indicates that the cranes roost on the mainland and
then cross over the bay to island feeding grounds at sunrise each day.
Could anyone who has experienced this sunrise crossing help me with an
address or GPS location to aid in witnessing this phenomena. I have
condo reservations for Jan 29 & 30.

Thanks for any helpful info or suggestions in advance,

Joe Hearn
