Subject: [MDBirding] C&O Canal from Edwards Ferry to White's Ferry - Central Loudoun CBC
Yesterday, 3 birders participating in the Central Loudoun CBC birded the
C&O Canal from Edward's Ferry to White's Ferry. It was a lovely walk with
lots of birds. We found 47 species in the CBC sector.

Highlights of the walk included many (21!) Red-headed Woodpeckers, a brief
visit by a Merlin, a Barred Owl, many Kinglets (10 ruby and 14
golden-crowned), several Brown Creepers and an incredible number of
White-throated Sparrows (327).

eBird checklists can be found here:

We're always looking for more volunteers and sector leaders to participate
in the Central Loudoun CBC. Next year's count will be on Monday, December
28, 2020. If you are interested in participating, please contact myself or
Joe Coleman ( <jcoleman...> ) or contact us through the
Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy website (
