Just to keep local birders informed ... looks like Hendrik and Craig were not able to relocate the Greater Black-backed Gull today. This bird is very conspicuous due to its huge size, so pretty sure they would have seen it with that much effort, if it was there again today!
I won't be able to keep tabs on this location for the coming week, due to work-related travel. Hope others will help to keep the information current.
According to the Oregon Bird Records Committee: https://oregonbirding.org/oregon-bird-records-committee/ there are no prior records of this species in Oregon. That surprises me as there are records from all surrounding states and also British Columbia. I sent in a report based on my observations yesterday, but it certainly would be good if someone can re-find the bird and get a photo.

Subject: Coffin Butte Landfill - no Great Black-backed Gull Date: Sun Dec 1 2019 15:26 pm From: hhactitis AT gmail.com
Hi all,
Craig Tumer and I spent well over an hour scoping a flock of about 800 gulls at the Coffin Butte landfill north of Corvallis this morning (from about 10:45 to noon). A lot of variety, but we didn't see any dark-backed gulls at all and were unable to relocate the possible Great Black-backed Gull reported from there yesterday.
The majority of the flock consisted of Glaucous-winged Gulls and Western x Glaucous-wing ("Olympic") hybrids,. There was a good number of Herring Gulls mixed in, with a few "Thayer's" Iceland Gulls, some Ring-billed and California Gulls and at least one 1st-winter Western Gull.
Happy gulling!
Hendrik
