The 16 participants on todays bird walk at the San Pedro House split into two groups and recorded 47 species. The overcast skies and cool conditions appeared to keep the birds down; on the bright side it did not start raining until after the walk was completed. Sightings of interest included a Lazuli Bunting, a Sharp-shinned Hawk and several Spotted Towhees.
Bird walks at the San Pedro House take place every Wednesday of the month and every 4th Saturday of the month through the end of May. During December the walks start promptly at 9:00a. The walks last approximately 3 hours. The San Pedro House is located on the south side of State Route 90 immediately west of the San Pedro River (about 6 miles east of Sierra Vista).
