- Comments: "Identified first in flight by their "rattle calls" alternating
with "cheer" notes, a call I am very familiar with from my considerable
time birding among this species in Alaska. One bird landed on mudflats
nearby with Horned Larks and I had an excellent scope view of it. It was a
typical juvenile with an overall warm brown color, rufous-edged greater
coverts, and the dark facial frame. Unfortunately, there were no photos
possible because of the distance."
