Highlights: Baltimore Oriole, Red-shouldered Hawk, Common Yellowthroat, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Wood Duck, Field & Fox Sparrows, House & Winter Wrens.

Although we've seen many Eastern Towhees and Brown Thrashers in Central Park this fall, we have yet to find a Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, or Red-breasted Nuthatch and White-breasted Nuthatches and Cedar Waxwings have been scarce.


Canada Goose - 155 including southbound flyover flock of 125
Wood Duck - 3 males at the Oven (Bob - early)
Northern Shoveler - 46 Reservoir
Gadwall - male Reservoir
American Black Duck - 1 south end Reservoir
Mallard - 40
Bufflehead - 10 Reservoir
Hooded Merganser - 5 Reservoir
Ruddy Duck - 71 Reservoir
Mourning Dove - 10
Ring-billed Gull - around 150 Reservoir
Herring Gull - a few on the Reservoir & flyovers
Great Black-backed Gull - 6 Reservoir
Double-crested Cormorant - 1 Reservoir
Cooper's Hawk - 2 immature males (together at Maintenance Field & 1 at Castle)
Red-shouldered Hawk - adult over Tupelo Field
Red-tailed Hawk - adult over Tupelo Field (Sandra Critelli)
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 4 or 5
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1 Gill Overlook (Andy)
Downy Woodpecker - 3
Northern Flicker - 1 Sparrow Rock
Eastern Phoebe - 3 (2 Pinetum (David Barrett, 1 Castle)
Blue Jay - 10
American Crow - flyover flock of around 20
Brown Creeper - 2 (Pinetum (Karen Evans), Balancing Rock)
