The Lancaster County Bird Club will meet Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium of the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Rd., Lancaster, PA.
Dr. Brent Horton, assistant professor of Biology at Millersville University, teaches a variety of courses in animal physiology and behavior. His research focuses on the neuroendocrine bases of social behavior in wild birds. He will present the results of his research since 2001, including the physiological bases of behavior in free-living White-throated Sparrows. In addition, he is currently studying the neuroendocrine bases of social-networking in an Amazonian bird, the Wire-tailed Manakin, and the bioaccumulation of endocrine-disrupting chemicals from aquatic insects to birds in Pennsylvania wetlands.
