On Tuesday, Jonathan Layman found a *deceased* Clay-colored Sparrow as well as a *deceased* possible Atlantic Nelson's Sparrow at UMass Boston while volunteering for Mass Audubon's Avian Collision Team. The site is surrounded with native grassland plantings and great pollinator/sparrow habitat, and unfortunately we have found a number of uncommon species of ex-bird there (including several Lincoln's on other dates).
Saltmarsh Sparrow is certainly a more likely ID for the second bird, but several observers on iNaturalist have suggested an Atlantic-population Nelson's Sparrow. If anyone with experience with these birds wants to weigh in, that would be great (offlist).
