Dayton 5 -15,000 birds



Sept 1 - Swainson's thrush heard in backyard

Sept 5 - first female Purple Finch of the winter crew in yard

Sept 1, 6 & 7 -- last single Black-headed Grosbeaks at the feeder



Sept 8 - the House Finch crowd swelled to 38!, then decreased



Sept 12 -- county first American Avocet at Sheridan sewage ponds



Sept 14 - cameo appearance of a Wilson's warbler in the backyard



Sept 23 - first two Golden-crowned Sparrows of the winter crew

Sept 24 - first Dark-eye Junco of the winter crew

Sept 25 - first Fox sparrow of the winter crew

Sept 28 - Grand Island Barn Swallow roost. 4500 birds



Sept 30 - first Cedar Waxwing of the chokecherry harvest, working with
Robins

Oct 6 - Cedar Waxwing up to 15



Oct 8 - first Pine Siskin of the winter crew

Oct 9 - first appearance of Yellow-rumped warbler at suet

-- junco numbers up to 12



Oct 10 - Western Screech Owl just after midnight, second time ever for the
yard.
