- Comments: "Continuing rarity photographed earlier in the day. Seen well
and Nolan took photos. Very similar plumage and structure to bird seen by
Courtney and I (Caleb) on South Coast this September. Small Oriole (all
yellow tail, icterid structure, bill both pointed and with some width at
base) with petite tail and bill proportions compared to Hooded, Bullock's,
Baltimore, and Scott's. Lemon yellow all across underside, showing some
slightly paler color in flanks, but nothing grayish on the underside as is
present in Bullock's and to some extent in Hooded. Life bird for Nolan!
Flew into small Hawethorne tree at corner, then to shore pine among houses
to the north, perching prominently at tops of trees. Then flew north out of
sight."
