- Comments: "Continuing bird(s). We were looking for Mandarin Ducks,
finally saw this one just before heading home. Have some distant and
not-too-sharp photos in dappled lighting but can see the longer white
eyeline, with less white around the eye. Also had some color near its back
end, and had a fairly white area under the butt. Ran into another birder
who said there are two male Mandarin Ducks this year (an adult and a
younger male) along with female(s). He saw them today but we didn't see
them."

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S60345416
- Media: 6 Photos
- Comments: "Photo’s. Tiny empid with complete eye ring. Very short,
triangular-shaped bill. Lower mandible of bill is uniformly a dingy orange
color. Light gray throat. Fairly bright yellow on breast and sides.
Medium-short primary projection. Round head is grayish with a bit of olive
tinge on top. Grayish-olive back. Vocalizations heard and confirmed by T
Bray.

10/5/19. Follow-up notes: Originally posted as Least Flycatcher, but after
careful review of all photo’s, the eyering on this bird seems incomplete,
primary extension seems longer than expected for least, and head shape
(peaked) and color, and bill color, better fits fall Hammond’s. Though
heard by two observers, the very loud nearby noise from I-84 makes
diagnostic vocalizations very hard to identify solely by ear."

forage along the tracks in the grass with the clay-colored sparrow. The
two looked very similar. Depending on posture and lighting, different
details came out. They were dwarfed by the gold-crowned sparrow and would
scuttle through the grasses like mice. The chipping had a less distinctly
marked face-barely any color compared to the clay-colored. The malar
stripe was faint. The eye ring was broken by a dark line. The back of the
