A male Townsend’s Warbler appeared at the suet cake today, after being gone for the summer. I can expect it to take residency now until well into spring like other years. Of course I don’t know if it is the same male bird. It generally comes with the feeder flock, which included both chickadees, bushtits, song sparrow, Red-br. Nut., an excitable Anna’s, and a Swainson’s Thrush this time. The thrush has been hanging around now for several days, and there was another with it.
