Subject: [obol] American Golden Plover, Fern Ridge, Lane County
The previously reported AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER continued this morning at
7:30 on Pond 6 west of the platform. The bird associated with several
Black-bellied Plovers and Ring-billed Gulls. After 30 minutes the plover
was startled by a gunshot and flew away giving its distinctive call. It
flew south of the tower and landed in view for Audrey Addison. I last saw
the group of plovers near Pelican Island in Pond 6, so they seem to be
moving about. The WHITE-FACED IBIS continued at the south end of Pond 5.
No sign of the Hudsonian Godwit. Perhaps Audrey had better luck.
