wetlands where there is an interpretive sign in the off leash dog area.
Scope definitely needed as far away. Spent much time obscured in the
grasses. Immature bird with overall buffy coloration. Similar size to
nearby Killdeer but slimmer, small head, medium sized bill, scaly back."

- Comments: "Around 9 am, we heard a bird vocalizing near the blind with a
short trill-like call. It vocalized multiple times - we checked the Merlin
app, and the trill matched the 'song' listed for Tropical Kingbird under
the 'Sounds' button. We were then able to see the Tropical Kingbird in a
20-25' conifer just west of the blind. It was perched a few feet below the
top of the tree along with several house finches. We tried to take a
photo, but it took flight shortly after we found it, and appeared to be
chased by a house finch. Unfortunately, we could not see where it landed
and tried for 15 minutes to relocate it without success."
