Subject: [obol] Great Gray Owl
Tues., Sept. 24, at about 3:00 in the afternoon, my husband and I saw a
Great
Gray Owl about 3.1 miles west of Lyons, in Linn Co. The bird sort of
fluttered down onto the edge of the road pavement, like a great gray moth,
and turned its head over its right shoulder--showing that beautiful facial
disc. Unfortunately there was no place to pull off, and we were past the
bird quickly. Don't know whether it was after something or what, but it was
a most unexpected and amazing sighting.
