Fox Sparrow (Passerella iliaca) (12) CONFIRMED

- Mill Creek Wilderness Area, Crook, Oregon

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S60063320
- Media: 2 Photos
- Comments: "Tallied as seen along trail through big burn below the
pillars. Ceonothus-dominated habitat, with a fair amount of manzanita mixed
in, especially higher up. First couple were mixed in with scads of WCSPs
partway up burn, rest were up near top, where we didn't see any WCSPs.
After seeing the 2 lower down on our way up, had 4 in view simultaneously
where we turned around, then simultaneous views of two at once, then three
at once, and then a single as we came back down the topmost switchback
(probably didn't see them on our way up because we were so focused on the
pillars!). Got distant photos of several individuals, will only post the
better photos of 2 that were quite close to trail here (though can provide
the others if requested). Recorded 2 videos (with audio) of one vocalizing
down in the WCSP swarm on the way down. In first video bird is never in
focus; in second video bird does come into focus and switches from calls to
a bit of song. Videos (and duplicates of the photos uploaded with this
checklist) posted here:
